About Tavola
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Nakasero along Kyadondo Road, Tavola feels entirely removed from the usual city rush. Set within the design-forward spaces of the Design Quarter, the venue blends farm-to-table dining with a relaxed, nature-wrapped atmosphere where you can easily lose track of time. It is the kind of spot where a chilly Monday evening is easily rescued by dim yellow lights, calm saxophone notes, and a steady pour of drinks, while busier weekends bring a vibrant energy that fills the garden breeze with lively chatter.
The menu leans into comforting yet refined territory, offering everything from flame-kissed skewers and Mexican pizzas to standout plates of salmon and creamy pastas topped with fresh basil. You might start your evening with a balanced cocktail or browse through the neighboring book cellar and artisan displays while waiting for your table. Whether you are settling in for a quiet weeknight date over burgers or gathering with friends for a long weekend dinner, the experience strikes a rare balance of aesthetic polish and genuine ease.

I went there on a chilly Monday evening after a long day’s work. The ambience was warm with calm saxophone music and dim yellow lights. Perfect spot for a date on a week day. We had cocktails, the Long Island for me(my standard order-because it’s difficult to mess up a Long Island). The cocktails were ok. They were not that strong, and not too sweet. My date had strawberry something😁. I ordered a burger and fries(also hard to mess that up) and my date had penne Alfredo. The pasta was really really good, the burger was basic. The service was excellent! All in all, good place for a date, good atmosphere.

Without doubt, one of my best and favourite restaurants in Kampala. From the food, to the design of the place, everything has been well thought. Always a pleasure to be there.

Tavola was way busier than I had expected on a Friday evening. Service was slow and the chatter from clients got too loud it drowned the singing by Body of Brian. The food was okay, hoping to try out other options on the menu. I want to give Tavola a second chance and hope to return when it’s less busy.

Absolutely amazing place. The salmon is a hit! Plus side is you get to also shop (or do some eye appreciation) of beautiful things from Edge living or the arts and crafts. The ambience is great. The parking is also ample and its situated in a quiet neighbourhood in Nakasero

Absolutely disappointed with this restaurant. Compare my photos and the photos with the ads. They make good cocktails, Long Island was ok. But the food is something inexplicable. The steak for 75 thousand was tough, and not cooked medium (I drew the waiter's attention to the degree of doneness) it was overdried like a cracker. The burger was 3 out of 5. The salt shaker mill was just for show and did not work. And besides, the waiter does not know the bar menu well and we were promised one tequila, but were served a completely different one, cheaper and of worse quality. No, no, no. Never again.
