About Karveli
When you need a reliable spot that effortlessly bridges the gap between a casual coffee run and a proper sit-down lunch, Karveli is an easy go-to around town. With multiple spots including Lumumba Avenue and Ggaba Road, it has carved out a niche as a bustling European-style bakery and family-friendly restaurant where you can easily lose an hour over a cold cocktail or a fresh brew. The menu spans a surprisingly wide territory, covering everything from hearty burgers on soft brioche buns to comforting plates and spiced house snacks.
The real pull, though, sits behind the glass counter. The bakery side consistently delivers with great pastries, rich cakes like their standout butterscotch, and scoops of Italian gelato that draw a steady crowd. While parking can sometimes test your patience depending on which branch you pull up to, stepping inside usually rewards you with attentive floor service and a lively, unpretentious atmosphere. It is the kind of neighborhood fixture that works just as well for a quick sweet potato snack pickup as it does for a long weekend catch-up over lunch.

Lovely restaurant with good food. Waiters are everywhere and doing their job. Food didn't take long. Was tasty and a relatively good portion in size. The pastries were really great. I had a butter scotch cake and it was a 10/10. My only issue with this place is the small parking

Karveli is a very good place to eat. They have a large menu with plenty of varieties of food. It’s also a bakery so it has multiple types of cakes and coffee. Excellent for any meal.

Recieved very poor customer service this morning at the bukoto branch, the girls are sluggish & aren't attentive to clients! Certain staff conversations shouldn't be held when customers in their vicinity. I recommend some training to be done. Unacceptable manners

I was astounded by the Mushroom Towa. A healthy portion of astoundingly flavourful food. Best Indian food since Jodhpur 15 years ago! The chef is a miracle worker! Loved the other treats we ordered too. It is undoubtedly the best restaurant experience I've had in Kampala almost rivaling Pyjamas and Jam in Cape Town!

Meal: Lunch Day Visited: Saturday Budget: UGX 30,000 Closest Station: N/A Reservation Needed?: N/A Payment: Cash; Mobile Money Kid Friendly?: Yes English Menu?: Yes A cute bakery/restaurant with pleasant outdoor seating. Sadly, I don’t care much for my breakfast sandwich - a Spanish omelet topped with tomato and onion between two pieces of bread - which was served with a rather odd interpretation of hash browns. Unfortunately, the meal tasted a bit like how it was presented - not great. The variety of iced teas on offer were refreshing, however, and I found the prices to be reasonable. Friendly service.
