About Shisa Nyama Village
Tucked away on Spring Road in Bugolobi, Shisa Nyama Village is the kind of sprawling, multifaceted spot you head to when you want a proper weekend catch-up or an easygoing evening with friends. The compound pulls together a deli, a butchery, and the steady hum of outdoor seating, making it a natural hub for networking and casual hangouts. You will often catch groups gathered over cold drinks, especially when the cocktail brand activations or weekend events bring an extra layer of energy to the yard.
The real anchor here is the food, anchored by charcoal-grilled meats that draw people in for a taste of home. The roast is deliciously prepared, though be prepared to leave trailing the scent of wood smoke in your clothes after a long night by the fire. Between the steady rotation of live band performances, vinyl DJ sets, and themed nights like Grill Wars, there is rarely a dull evening. Parking is plentiful, the crowd is lively, and it remains a reliable Kampala staple for good food, good music, and an unmistakably social atmosphere.

This place is awesome... Nice for meet and greets, catch ups and even casual hanging out with friends. The Djs are always on point when it comes to doing their thing... The roast is deliciously prepared and the ambiance is fantastic.

We had booked space to watch the final match for Arsenal FC, unfortunately we were roped into another event. I think it was unfair to try and juggle the 2. We had to peer at a distant screen for 3/4 of the match, due to speeches we couldn't listen to the commentary. The food and drinks were otherwise quite good. So was the music. More ventilation is needed, I was smelling of wood smoke by end of the night and some patrons complained of the blinding strobe lights. These can be worked on all in all. 8/10

9 years away from homeland, had me yearning for home charcoal grilled meats with sides. My initial request to my sister, was to take me to Yacobo’s but she said we were close to a relatively nice nyama choma place. We ended up at Shisa Nyama village; a rather high end restaurant for a nyama place. A bar and outdoor seating make for great ambience, but the service team behaved like they were doing us a favor with their service- especially the 2 ladies at the bar. The food lady however made for a great host and I found myself pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious, the Flavian’s taste of the pork skewers brought home all past memories and I found myself trying Tusker lite beer - I don’t like beer by the way! My sister tried Bell beer, one of Uganda’s top beers.
